Question

You didn't answer my question of why there is no page 2 for Form 1040?

Form 1040 page 1 has no place to sign. This will not be accepted by the IRS.

Look closely--the new "postcard size" Form 1040 is supposed to be two half pages--front and back--but when you print it out, both sides print on one page.  Do you see the black arrow pointing to the words "Sign here" in the middle of the page?

The new Form 1040 is only one page this year.  You will find the signature section right below the Dependent section of the return.  It is located in the middle of the page.
