Can an unlicensed sole proprietor life coach, whose only source of income comes from this work, be considered a gig worker?

One definition the IRS mentions for a gig worker is "Providing creative or professional Services." You may qualify under that designation based on your job description. The important thing is that what you describe is self-employment work and you need to enter it as such in TurboTax. Your income will be reported on a schedule C and you can deduct expenses from it. You will be subject to a self-employment tax of approximately 15% on your net self-employment income, in addition to income tax.
