Question

Can anyone tell me why I received a 1099NEC form? I don't freelance, don't work for an on-demand service or have a home based business any ideas??

I don't recognize the payer's name but they have my correct info such as address and last 4 SSN

No one in this user forum can guess who sent you a 1099NEC.  Contact the issuer and ask them.
