I am using turbotax for small business and I have federal 1099-NEC that I am filing for my non-employees contractors. Do I need to file 1099-NEC to the state of Massachusettes? Also, am I required to have a State ID, or is it sufficient to have a federal TIN?

Yes, you must send the Massachusetts Department of Revenue copies on any 1099-NEC forms that you issue.

You may or may not need a State ID.  For more information: Commonwealth of Massachusetts - Starting a business in Massachusetts
