I assume that that is "National Youth Football League".  If I'm wrong then apply this to whatever it is.

 

The important part of a 1099-MISC is whether or not this is an activity entered into in order to earn money.  If you are a professional coach, for instance, then any coaching that you do as a side job would definitely be seen as professional labor.  In which case you need a schedule C because this is a side gig and you have to upgrade.

 

But if this is just you trying to help out your kids' peewee league then that is just a hobby.  You can enter the 1099-MISC as other income and no big deal - no need to upgrade.

 

However, that method will not let you deduct any expenses that you had for coaching.  If you want to deduct your expenses then you need schedule C again and you are back to upgrading.
