It keeps asking for a 1099 but I don't have any self employment, so how do I fix this?

Clear the tax return and start over would be the easiest way to remove this issue.

If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the program screen while working on the 2023 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over.

Before you delete your return and start over, you can see if there is a form 1099 in your program in error, maybe carried over from the previous year. If so, you can delete the 1099 form and that may resolve your issue.

Follow these instructions:

1. Choose the Tax Tools option on your left menu bar

2. Choose Tools

3. Choose the Delete a form option under Other Helpful links 

Look for the errant form 1099 and click on the option on the right of the form to delete it.
