Payment apps

If my subcontractors make more than $600 but I am paying them with a payment app, will the app still send them a 1099?  Or do I need to?

    The app may send them a 1099 but the ultimate responsibility falls on you since you are the one making the payment and they do work for you.  I wouldn't depend on the app to solve that part of your business.  See additional info HERE
