Yes, you can use any unused tuition credit from 2019 on your 2020 return. If you haven’t already done so, you must claim your 2019 tuition credit on your 2019 tax return. Then you can claim any unused credits from 2019 on your 2020 tax return. To make changes to your returns if they have already been filed, please see this TurboTax FAQ for instructions: I've filed my tax return. Can I still make changes? For more information about adjusting tax returns, please see our TurboTax article: How Can I Amend My Tax Return? | 2022 TurboTax® Canada Tips (intuit.ca)

Please check your Notice of Assessment (NOA) before making changes, as the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) may have already made these changes for you.

Please see this TurboTax FAQ on how to enter your tuition fees into your 2019 tax return: How do I claim my tuition fees?

To claim your unused tuition credits on your 2020 tax return:

    1. Open your 2020 TurboTax return.
    2. Select "Find" (magnifying glass) at the top right of the page, and type Students.
    3. Select Students from the list, then click "Go"
    4. Once on this page, select "Unused tuition fees and education amounts from previous years", then select "Continue".
    5. You can now enter your unused federal and provincial tuition and education amount.
    6. Once you finish, click "Continue" to save your entry.
    7. You should now be presented with your Student Summary page to review.
