I have unused RRSP contributions from prior year i need to claim this year, but TurbroTax offers no place to do that. Help documents lead to nowhere:
The information on this Help Link doesn't provide details on how to "Select the applicable option for instructions on how to claim unused RRSP contributions."

Are you using TurboTax CD/Download or TurboTax Online?

I’m using TurboTax online and I can’t find the way to claim the unused RRSP contributions passed since 2023

@elieabounaderj Search for "RRSP/PRPP contributions", then check off "Have unused RRSP/PRPP contributions from prior years". Continue through until you get to that page.

    Hey Susan,

indeed checking the box will show the unused RRSP contribution from previous years but it doesn’t seem to be a way in turbo tax to declare that amount for 2024 taxes. And also the T1 doesn’t mention that number at all.

i tried to reach out to turbotax support and 3 people don’t seem to know how to help

also reached out to CRA and they mentioned that the amount is on the notice of assessment and turbotax app should have a way to do it and that if I was filing my taxes on paper instead of online this would be done by filling the schedule 7 part D.

Can you advise me how to proceed at this stage ?

Schedule 7 Part D is Unused RRSP contributions available to carry forward. To do that in TurboTax Online, you'd have to check off "Made RRSP/SPP contributions you wish to carry forward and deduct in a future year" on the RRSP page.

But that's not going to claim unused amounts on your 2024 return, that's going to carry forward amounts to 2025.

If you have a contribution from 2023 that you didn't claim in 2023, then you would need to add it to that year's return and carry it forward.
