I received a spousal rollover rrsp as part of a settlement, how do I claim it

    Thank you for your question.  The answer could change depending on several factors.  This chart on the CRA site should help decide your next steps.  Please read the instructions section for your applicable row to determine what needs to be done.

     

    If you feel that you still need  to claim a deduction (please confirm with the chart above), you may do the following if you are using Turbo Tax Online

    1.   On the left navigation bar, select "RRSP" and then select "Transfers to RRSPs"

    2.  Follow the instructions on that page to enter the amount.
