Last year, i lived in PA for part of the year (Jan - Sept) and then moved back to TX for Oct - Dec. I’ve lived in TX my whole life so i’ve never had to file state taxes until now, which is needed for Pennsylvania. I received a 1099-C (2 actually) for a cancellation of debt from a credit card. Do i need to enter the info on my federal and state tax returns? the actual debt was from a couple years ago but the letter is dated July 2024, so i’m wondering does that need to be reported for PA’s state taxes too, even though the debt was incurred while living in Texas?  So confusing!!!

Yes, the debt was forgiven while you were a PA resident so it goes on the federal and state.
