1099-R Block 16 State Distribution Missing or Blank, lived in two different states last year

I have several 1099-R forms that either do not have a block 16 or have nothing entered in that block.  I moved from one state to another in the middle of the tax year.  How do I address this in TurboTax Premier?  Thank you.

Yes, typically forms 1099R do not include state information unless state withholding occurred.  When you work your part-year returns for each state you will be asked to allocate, based on your time in each state, the various income sources you have entered in the federal interview.  For example, if you lived 6 months in state A and 6 months in state B and the retirement/pension payments were received monthly, then you will allocate 1/2 of  the 1099R amount in each of the state interviews.  Typically the allocation questions are in the "Income" or "Adjustments" section of the applicable state interview.

The part-year interviews are generated when you indicate in the "My Info" section that you lived in another state.
