2024 Missouri Form MO-A, Section D, is not calculating correctly. It does not add the stated lines from MO-A and only enters line 4 from Section C. Override to correct?

Section D is not adding line 5 (Section A), line 9 (Section B), and line 4 (Section C). It adds in only line 4 (Section C). This error transfers to the MO-1040. What to do?

So confused with the Turbo Tax reply to this issue referring to an update for Feb . 6, 2024 when it is now 2025.

There was an issue with Missouri Form MO-A that will require a product update.

What needs to be done:

Your Missouri return wasn't e-filed because of an issue with Form MO-A, Section D, Total Pension and Social Security/Social Security Disability. This issue will be resolved in a product release scheduled for February 6, 2024. After the product release, please download the latest updates (web products will update automatically). Go back into the product and open up your tax return. Run through final review, make any necessary changes, then save the return and re-transmit electronically. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.“

Hopefully they mean Feb. 2025. I have lost some trust in turbotax because of this wondering how accurate they really are.

Thank you for bringing this up. Nice, that we know better than the expensive program. What if we did not catch this based on prior experience? How many more bugs are in there we don't catch?

Seems Turbo tax released an update today (Feb 6th) that fixed the MO-A form calculations.

It took a few tries for me today yet finally my MO has been accepted. Feels good to get that checked off of my list !

I filed just as soon as Missouri opened the 'filing gate', and TT said all was good. Have been watching for my refund since, and today a pending refund of WAY MORE than I had anticipated was showing in my checking account. I went back to TT and sure enough, the refund showing in the TT file matched what MO was refunding. I had printed forms prior, and during a comparison to current found that the Form MO-A wasn't properly including the (VERY SIGNIFICANT) amount of my public pension received in 2024 towards an exemption on MO taxes owed. I am grateful the correction was made, but being a former MO Insurance Financial Auditor I cannot just let this go. WHO messed this up? If TT got the Form MO-A from the MO DOR, then they needed to check it before putting it into the system and shame on TT. But, shame on you MO DOR for letting such a bonehead error get out of your Department. I worked in the same building where you are and this is UNACCEPTABLE. Intuit would you like to interject here as to your guilt or innocence in this matter please??

I will be surprised if you get a response from anyone. I discovered this error on MO-A and called Intuit right away and also posted several messages in the community. I knew hundreds, perhaps thousands of people who get public pensions would be inversely impacted by this error. My Biggest disappointment is Turbo Tax was so very slow to correct MO-A and send out an update.

I will be using another Tax Return vendor in the future because I have lost confidence in TurboTax.

I've written the MO Department of Revenue (headquartered in the same building I worked in) and asked who we can thank for this. A dumb move by another worker who didn't check their form before sending it out. I've seen it many times. I won't get a response from them either. If that mistake went out to all the tax prep software companies, they all got the botched form.

Oh and I also have contacted MOSERS, at least I can do my part to alert my fellow retirees.
