A loss carryforward is not extending to my Ga return. Can you manually adjust a form?

What type of loss carryforward is not extending?

TurboTax Online does not allow you to manually adjust forms. The CD/download version allows you to override fields. However,

  1. This may result in incorrect calculations as the override may block some numbers from going to the right place;
  2. You will not be able to e-file; and
  3. You will void the 100% Accurate Calculation Guarantee.

You should not have to adjust your Georgia return because GA's income tax calculation starts with federal adjusted gross income (AGI). Any capital or net operating loss (NOL) carryforward included on the federal return will flow onto line 8 of GA Form 500.

Georgia has different tax treatments for NOLs incurred before 2018 and those claimed from 2018 and after so you will have to allocate your federal NOL. There is a screen (Let's Work on Your Net Operating Loss (NOL) Carryover) in the GA section which asks you to allocate your federal NOL to the right place.
