Accidentally filled state tax

I accidentally started a Tennessee state tax filing. I tried to undo it as I was filling but I could not get it to go away. I'm assuming this is why I haven't gotten my return, because I filled some else's taxes after mine, and they have already received their refund. I have not. On my turbo tax page it still says I started the state tax. How do I fix this?

If you did not actually file the State Return, it should have no effect on a Federal Return you submitted and hence, no effect on your Federal refund.

Please log into your TurboTax account and check the status of your e-file to ensure your Federal and/or State Returns were accepted.

To do this; sign in to TurboTax to check your current status. You'll find it in Tax Home after sign in.

If you used TurboTax CD/Download you can check your e-file status by opening the File menu and selecting Check E-filing status or by opening your return, selecting the File tab, and selecting the Check E-file.  The status should say "accepted."

To check on the status of your Federal refund check this link: IRS- Where's my Refund

You will need to check with your particular State Department of Revenue if you are expecting a Refund from a State:  State Department of Revenue

If you are not using the state return (Tennessee)  I would recommend that you delete the State return

Here is a link that will help you do that as well as answer any additional questions you may have:  Deleting/Not Filing State Return
