Question

Alabama keeps rejecting my return...

I have the following message:

Reject Code AL40OC-105

Reject Code AL40OC-140

When I log in and select "fix it" it just moves on to refile return without actually going through to fix it. I have tried to start over and edit the state return and it just takes me to the refile page.

I originally got a statement about an software update on March 5, 2021, but I still get routed to the refile page without being able to actually fix my return.

What do I do now? I have tried to call several times. The State of Alabama is saying it is a Turbo Tax software issue. I have used you for years and never had an issue until now.

AL40OC-140 and AL40OC-105 when other state AGI exceeds AL AGI in the other state tax credit calculation on AL Schedule OC,

I assume AL is your resident state. you needed to do the non-resident state first.

In Part A line A1 can't exceed A2 and you needed to have paid taxes to both states on the same income

    Thanks.

Yes,  Alabama is my resident state. I always do Federal, state of GA, and then add AL as the additional state. So many issues this year but last night after I refreshed everything and walked back through each return, AL finally accepted.

The issue I'm having now is the amounts for my federal and GA return changed. They are both higher than what I initially received as my refund.

I know with the passing of the Hero Bill/Pandemic Relief, there was a portion of unemployment that was tax exempt.

Will I get an additional refund from Federal and GA. I initially e-filed and received both refunds before the bill was passed.

I'm so lost this year. TurboTax has never been this difficult and information hard to access. Thanks!
