Alabama state taxes

Hi!

My husband lives and works in Wisconsin. I moved to Alabama in June 2023 for a job  (prior to this I was not doing any job or making money). So my only earnings are in Alabama.
We have filed joint federal taxes and joint Wisconsin taxes as I was a part resident there (Jan to June 2023).

For Alabama state tax, since I am a part year resident I plan to file Form 40 as Married Filing Separately via mail. Do I need to give a copy of Federal taxes? If yes, do we need to give Wisconsin state taxes copy as well since my husband salary makes 80% of our total income.

TurboTax will prepare Filing Instructions and generate additional copies of other tax returns, should those tax returns be required to be submitted with the Alabama Form 40 state tax return.

State part-year tax returns generally request a copy of the Federal 1040 income tax return.

If your state income tax return reports a credit for taxes paid to another state, the other state tax return is generally requested.

Alabama Department of Revenue 2023 Instructions Residents and Part-Year Residents may be found here.
