Allocate NYS State Adjustments

I lived in NYC from Jan 2023 until Septemever 2023. I moved upstate at the beginning of September 2023. Its asking me to allocate $638 based on the time I spent as a resident of NYC. How do I calculate this? Please help!

You'll need to allocate based on the number pay periods in each location/total number of pay periods. So, for example if that income was paid to you monthly and all 12 months, then 9 months/12 total months (.75) were in NYC and 3 months /12 total months (.25) not in NYC. Those proportions can be multiplied by the income to yield what was paid in each residency period.

If all of the amount was paid in one location then allocate all to one place and none to the other.
