My 2023 return was the first year I used Turbotax for my personal return.  Previously I used a CPA, who always calculated my ATM (which was always zero) and filed form 6251.  Using Turbotax this year, after allowing the software to check for any errors, I filed my return.  After filing I noticed form  6251 for ATM was not filed.  A representative from Turbotax told me form 6251 is only filed if have a ATM tax.

Is this true per the IRS, form 6251 only needs to be filed if have a ATM tax or credit?

You don't file Form 6251 if you don't have any AMT. The CPA probably didn't file it either. He just gave you a printed copy so that you could see the calculation, but it wasn't actually filed with your tax return.
