AppStore sales

I work for a company that develops mobile applications. Under our agreements, we transfer our apps to Apple and Google Play for publication, and they handle the sales to end users. Our sales turnover through these platforms is substantial in several states, exceeding the economic thresholds.

From my perspective, our agreements are directly with Apple and Google, and they are responsible for the sales transactions. As such, I believe that we, as the developers, do not have direct obligations to file tax returns such as Sales Tax and Income Tax independently. However, I am unsure about this interpretation.

Could you please clarify whether we need to file these tax returns in each state, or if the filings made by Apple and Google are sufficient to meet the necessary requirements?

I appreciate your guidance on this matter.

"I work for a company that develops mobile applications."

What is the nature of your employment?  Are you a W-2 employee?  Are you an independent contractor (your reimbursement is reported to you on a 1099-NEC)?

Generally speaking, your employer is responsible for filing its tax returns; you are responsible for filing your own individual tax returns.
