Are the federal income tax after non-refundable credits for a state return common?

It is putting numbers in the boxes but based on the information when you click on the link it states federal income tax paid in 2023 for 2022 or sooner. I do not think we paid any federal income tax in 2023 for 2022 or sooner. How do you know these numbers are correct?
