AZ form 309/301 is not giving me full refund of tax paid to Wisconsin from sale of cabin

    The credit for taxes paid to other states is limited to the lesser of:

     

    - the tax paid to Wisconsin or

    - the tax charged by Arizona on the same income

     

    Arizona has a lower tax rate than Wisconsin, so you would have paid less tax to Arizona than Wisconsin on the same income. Therefore, the credit that you see on your Arizona return won't be the full amount of tax you paid to Wisconsin.
