CA form 540 NR

Hello,

I moved to KY on 9/1/2023, although when completing my CA state return, TT does not switch me over to the 540 NR form and instead is considering me a FY resident of CA. How do I prompt TT to ask me if I moved out of CA and am no longer a resident so that I can complete 540 NR? From what I can find, if I was not a resident for 9 months or more in CA, I should complete 540 NR.

In the personal info section, you are asked if you lived in any other state. Here will select that you lived in CA. You will also enter the dates in this section. Be sure to enter the correct date. This will prompt TurboTax to generate the CA 540NR.

Once you get into the CA return, you will also be asked to verifiy your residency status.
