I have lived in Texas now for six years, but still own vacant land in California. If I had no income from CA, but only paid property taxes there, am I required to file taxes in the state of California?

According to California State Franchise Board, No if you had no income from the following:

Sourced income includes, but is not limited to:

    • Services performed in California
    • Rent from real property located in California
    • The sale or transfer of real California property
    • Income from a California business, trade or profession

Non-resident, Do I need to file?
