Can I file a 2021 California Return now in TurboTax? I already filed Federal on time, but got a notice from California that I need to file one for the state.

I moved out of state so my income is all non-CA. But I sold my house after I left the state, so need to fulfill that piece of the filing. I didn't have a capital gain above $250K, but need to file nonetheless.

You need to use the CD/download on a full PC or Mac to prepare any 2021 return now. Online software for 2021 and e-filing are permanently closed for 2021 returns. If you used online TT for your federal return you can go to your account and then purchase the state download to use to prepare that CA return and mail it in to the state.

If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.
