Can I File in just one state? I have lived in sc but did instacart while in school in VA for a few months

    It depends. You are required to file a Virginia tax return if you made $11,950 or more (Who Must File). If you paid any Virginia tax, you may want to file a return in order to get a refund.

     

    For your SC return, you will report all the income you made for the year and pay tax on it.
