Can I use turbo tax to file my taxes if I work in NJ and live in NY

Yes, you can use TurboTax for that  very common situation.  Prepare your federal return first.   You will need to file two state returns----first prepare the NON-resident return for the state you work in, and then prepare the state return for the state you LIVE in.
