Can't get correct free state
I purchased Turbotax (CD) which claimed I was given federal filing and one free state return. It's trying to make me buy my first state for $40. I live in NH, which has no state income tax. I want to use Vermont as my free state, where I will have to file a state return. But Vermont doesn't appear in the free state list (all the other states do), only in the $40 list that follows. This feels very shady to me. Have I been tricked? 10 years with Turbotax but maybe this is the last...
