Cannot e-file MN Return - Needs Federal Form 2210

Did quarterly MN estimated taxes for the first time in 2023. When reviewing my Federal and MN State returns, turbotax smart check says there are some errors. Here is the error message...

We Won't Be Able to E-file Your Return

Why? Well, it looks like you have a tax situation in the Minnesota return that makes it ineligible for e-filing.

Reason for e-file ineligibility:

The return contains Form S2210 this is used to calculate the underpayment penalty on Schedule M15.

TurboTax does not support  this information to be filed electronically.

The good news is you can print out your Minnesota return and file it by mail.

What is going on here? Does this mean that anytime I choose to do quarterly MN estimated taxes, I won't be able to e-file? Or is there a fix to this problem?

According to this online tool, TurboTax does support MN Schedule M15 for Mac, including e-filing.

If you haven't already, try completing the Underpayment Penalty questionnaires in both the Federal and State returns to see if this solves the issue.
