Cannot move forward without selecting a State for box 15. Im in TN where we don't have state income tax and TN is NOT listed in the options for box 15

If no amount was withheld in Box 17, you should leave Boxes 15, 16, and 17 blank on your W-2 form - this should clear the error and allow you to move forward.

• Box 15: This box is for the state and employer's state ID number. If your state doesn't have an income tax (like Tennessee), you can leave this box blank
• Box 16: This box shows the amount of your wages subject to state income tax. Again, if your state doesn't have an income tax, this box should be left blank
• Box 17: This box shows the amount of state income tax withheld from your pay. If no state income tax was withheld, this box should also be left blank
