Is strike pay received by a Detroit casino employee who is a non resident taxable 

to Detroit. 1099-misc box 3 income issued by UAW located in Detroit.?Turbo tax 

program does not include this income on Detroit return. Is this income taxable 

to a non resident emploee?

    Yes, the City of Detroit considers strike pay compensation and therefore is taxable to non-residents.

    You will need to add the Detroit city return to the Michigan return and allocate the strike pay to Detroit.

    @KrisD15 Hello, I am a Detroit non-resident employee and received strike pay from the UAW based in Detroit. However, my strike assignment was not located in Detroit. Is the strike pay considered to have been earned in Detroit?

    If your income comes from work or services in Detroit, it is taxable in Detroit. Otherwise, it isn't.
