City of Lansing, MI tax form not mapping correct income

I completed the State of Michigan Taxes and moved on to City of Lansing.  Problem was the software mapped my income into the City of Lansing return instead of my wife's.  I did not work in Lansing but my wife did (remotely) and  she had tax withholdings in boxes 18,19,20 which I entered in her W2 information.  Is there a way to correct the transposition?

There are a couple of entries I would check.   First, go back and make sure the W-2s were entered correctly.  When you go through the question for the City return there should be a question that you entered the amount of your income that is City of Lansing and the same for your wife.

Second, make sure the City of Lansing's income is in the correct box.   Your box should be "0" and the spouse box should have the amount of her income.

Double-checking and making sure the numbers are all in the right place, should fix the problem you are having.   If you continue to have the same problem you might want to delete the state return and start over.   Sometimes deleting and re-entering the information fixes the problem.
