My son is attending college in Arizona and works at Target.  He also worked at Target in Colorado, his home state.  Does he need to file two state tax forms? Which form does he use 1040EZ

Yes, your son will need to file two state tax returns: a resident return for Colorado and a nonresident return for Arizona.

The 1040EZ form has been eliminated - everyone files a 1040 on the federal return (or its variations like the 1040SR which is just the 1040 in larger print).

NOTE: he will need to enter his Arizona data first (nonresident) and his Colorado data next (resident).

In generally, you are taxed in the state where you live and in the state(s) where you work.

Just be sure to enter the W-2s with the state withholding on them (you should see down in box 15 the two-character state ID), so that TurboTax will know what state returns to generate.
