Completed resident state before nonresident

I have to file taxes in two states and I completed the resident before the nonresident.  There is an error that won't let me finish on the nonresident form.  I bypassed and finished the process and tried to e-file but I am stuck in a loop of errors.  How can I delete the state returns and start over with those in the correct order after I have finalized payment?

If you’ve already paid your fees, you can’t delete your returns, but you can start over by selecting Start Over next to your state return on the Status of your state returns screen.

Please follow the instructions below:

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Select State Taxes from Tax Home (or on the left side of the screen).
  3. Click on Your State Returns on the left side of the screen.
  4. Click the trash can next to your nonresident state. Click Start Over. Then, complete your nonresident return.
  5. Navigate back to the Status of your state returns screen. Click on the trash can next to your resident state. Click Start Over. Then, complete your resident return.
