Daughter lives and works in Texas, still has Va drivers license. did not work in Virginia last year. Did work in SC and Texas. How do we change return to just Tx?

She is not a dependent.  She is being charged Va income taxes.

You cannot change it to "just TX. "   She worked in SC too----per your information.  So she has to file a SC return.  TX has no state income tax so there is nothing to file for TX.   The VA drivers license is irrelevant---you say she did not work or live in VA, and no VA tax was withheld.

 

You do not say how long she lived or worked in SC----sounds like she needs to file a part-year return for SC.

Just re-read your post------if VA tax was withheld --- and she did not live or work in VA, then she needs to file a NON-resident VA return to seek a refund of that tax.  She should prepare that return FIRST, before the SC return.
