Dear TurboTax Community,I need to file my 2020 California State Tax returns. How do I access the 2020 CA State Tax form within TurboTax?

You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Start a 2022 return online and enter some personal information so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them. Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax? If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.

Oh---you want to prepare and file a 2020 state return?! If you used TurboTax to prepare and file your 2020 federal return then you can go back and prepare the state return. But you are going to need the downloaded desktop software on a full PC or Mac, and the return will have to be mailed. You might find it easier to just get the paper forms from the state's website and do them by hand. You will need information from your 2020 federal return.
