Do I have to file my state (Illinois) after I file my federal and receive my K-1, Or do I need to file my state for the business and then again for personal?

Business returns first. If you have a business that is generating a K-1 meaning you are filing a 1065 or 1120S for your business then you would need to file the business return for the state since you already did the federal and get that K-1 and then you would file your personal return.

So if my husband and I run an LLC with 50/50 partnership and on our personal taxes file as self employed don't I just file Federal for my business and then file Federal and state for personal?
