Question

Do I need to amend my IN return in Desktop Turbotax?

I e-filed my IN state return with Turbotax and got a letter from IN Dept of Revenue saying they had to make some changes in my return. I compared their figures with mine and it apparently has something to do with the estimated taxes I already paid.  (line 12) The letter doesn't have much information in it. The letter says the changes did not affect my refund or the tax that was due, so the changes are probably not that important. These changes will take effect by May 7 unless I disagree. I guess I agree with the changes. So now do I have to go into my IN Turbotax form and figure out how to make these changes myself? Or will Turbotax automatically upload these changes sometime after May 7?

No.  You do not have to do anything.  The IN Dept. of Revenue is making all of the adjustments and will send another notice after May 7 with explanation of adjustments.

Once the taxing agency has the return and starts to make adjustments, no amendment to that return is necessary.
