We live in MD and my daughter is away at college in IN. She has a part-time job on campus and received a W-2. Her income was approx $750 and state and local taxes were withheld totally less than $100. Of course I will include her earnings on her federal return and MD return but do I need to file a state return in IN for her?

    this is from Indiana instructions

    1. Part-Year Residents and Full-Year Nonresidents:

      • If you were a part-year resident and received income while living in Indiana, you must file Indiana income taxes.
      • Full-year nonresidents who received any income from Indiana sources must also file.

You will probably get a full refund of the IN state tax. The county tax will not be refunded.  If there is a little IN state tax paid, MD will give you a credit for that.  I'm not sure about MD, but most states will also give you a credit for the IN county tax paid/withheld.
