I am an Illinois resident with 1099-INT interest income from a Maryland bank (and no other income earned in Maryland) - do I need to file non-resident Maryland state tax in addition to my resident state?

No MD return.  Interest income like yours is only taxable in the state of residence. It's not income from conducting an activity in MD.
