Question

Do I need to submit a Washington tax return? I only lived there for 5 months, did, not sell stocks, and only had income from my job

    No. Washington doesn't have a state income tax. There is an option to file for the Washington State Families Tax Credit in TurboTax, but since you did not live in Washington for more than half the year, you aren't eligible for the credit.

    so I dont need to submit anything for washington?

    No you do not need to submit anything for Washington since you did not leave there all year.  You can delete the state return.
