I live & work in VA but use my TX address for all W-2. The TX address is in the VA tax return

Why do you do this? Because it sounds like you live in VA for more than 183 days a year, Virginia treats you as a resident for tax purposes. So having a Texas address on your W-2 won't change anything - you will still owe Virginia the tax that a resident would owe.

On your 1040 in the Personal Info or My Info section, do you have entered the VA address? This is what goes at the top of the 1040 and VA 760. It is important that you list your actual current address in case either the IRS or the Virginia Department of Revenue wants to mail you something.

I don't see any upside to using this Texas address.
