Question

Do I still need to pay state Individual Estimated income tax payment ?

Since my annual gross earning has meet the threshold of estimated income tax payment, I am required to pay estimated tax. When I use the worksheet to figure out how much I should pay,  I  found that my W-2 state tax withholding is more than the 100% of 2020yr balance of tax, which is the total taxes  taken off tax credits in 2020 yr, but smaller than the 90% of 2021 yr estimated balance of tax, which is the total taxes taken off 2021 estimated tax credits. I wonder if I still need to pay estimated tax in 2021. Thank you.

What state? Each state has different rules. They are not necessarily the same as the federal rules. Check the estimated tax requirements for your state.
