Do you determine where you were a resident during the year based on where you lived or what your license says?

Your residency is where you permanently reside. You determine your residency based on where you live unless you are there on a temporary basis. For example, if you moved during the year then you would consider your new address as your residence. However, if you were away attending school and you planned to return home then your residency would not change.
