Does Turbox Tax State for Oregon include local taxes? I use Turbo Tax every year, and got a bill from the City of Portland, for local taxes in 2022 to pay a SHS - Metro Supportive Housing Services Personal Income Tax. What line is it on in Turbo Tax? Are we responsible for paying this local tax, separately from TurboTax?

A. Separately.

Portland local taxes are not among the limited number of local returns that TT can do. Even when TT CAN do a local return, it is not automatic. You must initiate it within the state program. Almost all are not efiled. They have to be printed and mailed.

TurboTax only prepares a few city or local tax returns as an extra step in your state return. For most local tax returns you are on your own. You may have to ask around amongst your neighbors, etc. to find out if you have a local tax and how to pay it. “Google “ local tax for your area. Call your city government, etc. Your only record of paying your local tax will be your own bank/credit card records
