Son worked in FL for 11 months while going to school. Permanent address is in Maryland where he started work in December and also had income. It seems as though MD is taxing him on the $ earned in FL. How do I correct this?

It is being taxed correctly.  This was considered to be a temporary absence. If his home state is in MD, and was for the entire time he was in FL, his income is taxable to MD.  Since FL does not have any state income tax, there is not a credit for taxes paid to another state on the MD return, it is simply like he earned all of the income in MD.
