Efile state tax return

I tried to efile fed and state. Your program stopped me anmd said i had to update Turbotax. I did that and then tried to efile again and the program said the fed was a duplicate and it could not file state because it must file with fed. What the heck???

That stinks. You must be using desktop software and not have it set to automatic updates. Still, you should have been prompted to update the software when opening your TurboTax program.

Has your federal return been accepted? I know that a state return cannot be e-filed separately from the federal return until the federal return has been accepted. However, some states REQUIRE that the federal and state be e-filed together. What state are you filing for?
