File state return before amending federal?

Somehow, during the IRS process for providing my bank account information for the Federal Covid stimulus check, through IRS.gov, I mistakenly e-filed a 2019 IRS 1040 return as a "non-filer". I am not a "non-filer" and that return is incorrect and I need to amend it. But I still haven't filed my state return. I had planned to use Turbo Tax to e-file both fed and state (now have to mail amended fed). My question is, how do I now use Turbo Tax to e-file my correct state tax return? It will not match the currently filed federal return (to be amended).  Or do I file a incorrect state return to match the incorrect federal return (to be amended), and then amend the state return later to match the later amended federal return?  Thank you!

Sorry you can not efile state either unless Federal was first accepted from this account.  You will have to mail state.

If your return rejected because you signed up on the non-filer Stimulus page see

Oh if you read that link you do not have to amend federal.  Just print and mail it like it says.
