Filed tax for 2023 on Oct 1st (after extension) . Received confirmation from TurboTax for Refund of $7703 is accepted by state of New Jersey . But I only received $832.

Accepted only means the tax authority received the tax return without any errors on the tax return that would cause the e-filed return being rejected. It does Not indicate the tax authority Approved the tax refund on the return as filed.

The state will be sending you a letter in the mail within the next few weeks describing what they changed on your state return to reduce the state tax refund. In the letter there should be a procedure on how to dispute the changes made by the state.
