If my name is incorrect can I still file as long as my social security is correct? Or do I have to make the change before filing?

    No, you will not be able to file the tax return- it will be rejected.  You will need to edit the last name if it is incorrect.  The IRS matches your last name to the social security number so you will not be able to e-file with the error.
